Michael Menghini M.Sc and Scott Smith M.Sc own and operate Aquatic Features, Inc.
Michael and Scott met in 1992 while serving as biologists for the National Marine Fisheries Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The two discovered they shared a hard work ethic as well as a belief in the preservation of the natural environment
Scott Smith graduated with a B.S. degree in Aquaculture from Texas A&M University. He would later become a Peace Corps volunteer teaching indigenous peoples how to raise Tilapia (a food fish) in both the Philippines and Africa. Smith would go on to achieve a Master’s degree from Auburn University in Aquaculture. He later worked in such diverse places as Laos, Belize, and Honduras, raising food fish for indigenous populations.
Michael Menghini graduated from Wittenberg University with degrees in both Biology and English Literature. He later worked as a biologist at the University of California at Berkeley and then pursued a Master’s degree in Fisheries Science and Aquaculture at Humboldt State University. Michael spent the last years previous to starting Aquatic Features Inc. raising rainbow and cutthroat trout, salmon, and tilapia, and doing fisheries consulting.
Weary from living and working in remote locations, Smith and Menghini decided to settle in the Austin area, The result is Aquatic Features, Inc.
